Best Nanny Ever.

Okay, so Im not the best Nanny ever, but I will be after this summer. Then I will write a book on how others can do the same thing. But so far, this is what I got to make being a Nanny easy.

1. Penny Trivia

I ask each kid a question in the car, if they get the answer correct, I give them a check mark. Which is worth a Penny. As the questions go on I as them if they have 39 questions correct; how many nickels, dimes, or quarters do they each have. I know this sounds silly but the kids I've tried it with have loved it, then I'll take them to McDs or wherever they want, but they can only use how much "money" they've earned.

2. GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!!

I plan an outting at least once a week; movie, mall, lunch with one of my friends that they know, museum, baseball game, beach if its close, bluebell icecream factory, or a city owned park. They love it and it gives you something to look forward to.

But everyday they need to get off the couch and ride bikes, go swimming, for a walk, or go to a playground! Kids might think they want to sit and watch Disney Channel, but they dont and it will drive you crazy!!

3. Show them something NEW

Today I showed my girls a game on the web that I was allowed to play in High School because of the educational value. They love games, but this one, you learn!

I think its fun and it helps the kids LEARN a bit while on their summer vacation!

More to come later...

Paul and Jenni are getting MARRIED!!

Well, I was right! My family is growing!! My big brother asked his girlfriend Jenni to marry him!

Last Thursday Paul took her out to a nice meal because she is going out of town this week. They went out to a nice dinner when he went out of town on business, so it seemed like a normal thing. Well, they went to Perry's and Paul called ahead and had rose petals put on the table. (AWW!) She asked why and he just said "I dont know" Then he asked if she wanted to order a bottle of wine. She said "We never get wine..?" He ordered it anyway and thought he better do this quick! Jenni said later that he just kept saying "I love you" over and over, and she was waiting for a "but.." but than he got down on one knee!!! And asked her to marry him!!!

I am so happy that Paul and Jenni are a perfect match! I love Jenni and am so happy that I get a sister that lives in Houston!!! Happy Happy Day!

Funny Stories

Here are some funny things that happened while subbing this year:

Pre-K::: There was a little boy who came to school in his Cowboy boots, Jeans, a HUGE belt buckle and a shirt that said Home Grown Texas Kid. When I told him I liked his shirt, he said (with the most excited eyes I've ever seen) "What does it say!?"

Pre-K::: I was working with a Pre-K teacher who was 7 months pregnant and we were talking about how She could never teach 7th grade and I could never do Pre-K. Just then a little four year old came up and said "I wanna give your baby a hug!" Than put his face next to her tummy and rubbed it with his hand! My heart melted

7th Grade::: I had some kids in a computer lab doing reseach for a project. I was walking up and down the rows and I saw a tab that was closed that said Justin Bieber Song... I said "Close that!" she tried to tell me that she was looking up some old guy and thats where google took her. She tried to prove her point by clicking the back botton, which showed me pictures of Justin, than she did it again which showed me that she had googled "Justin bieber and his girlfriend". Ya.. she didnt have much to say after that!

1st Grade::: Little girl comes up to be BALLING "Sweetheart, whats wrong?" "He.. stole... my ... rock!" I'm thinking, are you kidding!? "Well why does he have it?" "We... traded". Oh goodness me..

7th grade::: 7th grade girl: "Ms. Feldman!!! THIS IS TOO HARD!!!" 7th grade boy: "thats what she said" Me: "Write up!"

1st Grade::: I was having trouble finding out what I was suppose to do with the airliner and the kids started all trying to tell me what to do at once. Then one kid starts yelling "SHE'S NOT A ROBOT! SHE ISNT OUR TEACHER! DONT JUDGE HER!!" thanks kid! Your right! I'm not a robot!

12th Grade:: Boy "Hey Miss!"
Me: "Yes?"
Boy: "What are you doing this Saturday?"
Me: "I dont know.. "
Boy: "Wanna go to prom with me?!"
Me: "No"

4th Grade::: I was telling the class a little bit about myself, and I told them I went to Texas A&M. Of course one kid puts his horns in the air and says "I love UT!" I told him, "I love alot of people that went to UT! So I love it too!" He tells me "Oh, I know that they are both great schools and I would be happy to go to both, I just like UT a bit more!" I told him to keep that outlook!

9th Grade::: There is a class of girls in one of the schools that is awful to their teacher, when I asked them why they were mean to him and not me they said "Cause you got that look! Like, you mean business! We know that you cool, but like, we aint gonna mess with you" good to know!

8th Grade::: Back to a post from April, I started subbing in that teachers class and I had given them their worksheet and after they were done, I was going over it. One kid rised his hand "What are you doing?" I told him that I wanted to make sure they all understood the section. He said "You've taught us more than our teacher has all year" Well thanks!

Exciting Week!

My baby brother, James is graduating from High School this Saturday! I can't believe he has gotten so big! My little sister, Julie, is gone this week, but she'll be back on Friday! Which is a great thing because I'm pretty sure our family is going to grow!!! No babies.. :) I'm keeping my secrets! This week also holds my last day of SUBBING EVER!!! (i hope). But that is very exciting!! I start my summer job as a nanny on Friday! (Klein stays in school till Thursday and Tomball gets out today! Lucky Me!) Friday is also very important because it is Ryan and I's 4 year anniversary! 4 years!!! That's nuts! I love him so much and I'm so happy that I've been able to spend the last 4 years with him! No, we arent getting engaged too soon! This is why: you never hear people say "I wish I would have gotten married younger" they all say "I wish I would have waited" Well, we are young, 23! And I'm not in any rush! Now, some of my friends that are getting married, I'm very happy for because its the right thing for them! My favorite 2 are Ashley and Jake. They just need to be married! They are perfect for each other and they are going to make a beautiful married couple! They are tying the knot in 16 dayS! Its going to be a wonderful wedding! I'm so pumped!

GREAT LIFE!! (now if only I had a job for the Fall...)
